DAXSOL^® Dimethyl carbonate

DAXSOL^® Dimethyl carbonate (CAS number: 616-38-6) is a clear colorless environmentally friendly solvent synthesized from carbon monoxide. Among its main applications, dimethyl carbonate is used to prepare coatings and adhesives, as raw material for several methylation, carboxylation, and carbomethoxylation processes, including pharmaceutical synthesis. Further, dimethyl carbonate is used as an electrolyte in lithium-ion batteries (LIB) in notebook PCs and cell phones, hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). Lastly, dimethyl carbonate is used as environmentally friendly cleaning agent in chemical plants and processes.
