1,6-hexanediol (CAS number 629-11-8) is based on an aliphatic chain with primary hydroxyl groups, making it highly reactive and useful in the manufacture of a variety of derivatives. 1,6-hexanediol is a raw material for polyurethane coatings, polyester resins and UV-curing materials, as well as a reactive diluent for epoxy resin. It is also used in expanding markets, such as environmentally-friendly solvent-free coating materials.
