1,12-Dodecanedioic acid (DDA) (CAS number 693-23-2) is used as a raw material for polyurethane, polyester and polyamide resins, as well as a curing agent for acrylic powder paints. When reacting with various alcohols and diamines, it produces polyester and polyamide resins with excellent performance, especially in terms of hydrolytic resistance, flexibility and heat stability.
DDA is also used as a raw material for synthetic musk fragrances and as an intermediate for a variety of organic synthesis processes. It is also used as a corrosion inhibitor in cutting oil.
