Building trust is one of our most important assets and is supported by the management principles of UBE Corporation, which has established a commitment to four core values for the entire UBE Group: ‘Ethics’, ‘Safety and Security’, ‘Quality’ and ‘People’, encouraging all its members to act ethically at all times, with fairness, integrity and transparency.
Our ethical commitment and the prevention of any conduct that might violate the law are embodied in the Compliance Management System, which also includes the Ethics System and the Crime Prevention Model.
These are guidelines established by our parent company, UBE Corporation, to serve as a guide to ethical conduct and compliance for all its staff.
We also incorporate the principles of the Responsible Care international program, a global, voluntary and active initiative of the international chemical industry, the objective of which is for the member companies of this program to achieve continuous improvement in the development of their productive activity, with regard to safety, health protection, the environment and other Corporate Social Responsibility parameters.
Our Code of Ethics and Conduct sets out the corporate values and ethical principles that must guide the behaviour of all collaborators, including the persons with any kind of contractual relationship with the companies of the Organisation, and establishes guidelines for conduct that must be strictly adhered to.
These values define our understanding of corporate responsibility and our social commitment. Internally, they form the foundation of our shared culture and are the driving forces behind our common purpose and our identity as a company. Externally, they will be the key elements on which we build the trust of our stakeholders and the pillars upon which we establish a strong public reputation.

With the aim of strengthening integrity frameworks, fostering a culture of compliance and in line with our values, the Organisation has an Internal Information System implemented in accordance with the provisions of the legislation governing the protection of individuals who report regulatory breaches and anti-corruption matters.
The EC Line channel has been set up by the Organisation as its confidential web-based tool for reporting, in accordance with the law, on actions or omissions falling within its purpose and scope; it is the preferred method to communicate risks or breaches of current legislation or internal regulations and it is available to both, internal or external, collaborators regarding matters relating to the business relationships they maintain with the Organisation.
Together with the Code of Ethics and Conduct, which forms the basis, the Compliance Management System comprises the remaining policies, protocols and procedures relating to specific aspects of compliance and ethics within the Organisation. As they fall under the category of Corporate Standards, they apply to UBE Corporation Europe and to its subsidiaries, with the aim of ensuring alignment in the implementation and practice of compliance.
