Efficient thermal management is a key requirement powertrains. As coolant operating temperatures vary depending on vehicle architecture and system design, selecting the appropriate material and tube structure is therefore essential to meet the specific demands of each system.
UBE provides different material solutions for automotive coolant lines, including monolayer UBESTA PA12 and multilayer configurations based on ECOBESTA-PP and ECOBESTA-9T. These alternatives address specific requirements in terms of hydrolysis resistance, heat resistance, mechanical behaviour and cost.
For demanding coolant line applications, UBESTA PA12 provides a monolayer solution designed for coolant lines. ECOBESTA-PP combines modified PP and PA12 in a multilayer structure, offering excellent hydrolysis resistance together with outstanding cost performance. ECOBESTA-9T incorporates PA12 and GENESTAR PA9T in a multilayer configuration for excellent hydrolysis and heat resistance.
Long-term coolant resistance testing demonstrates the excellent durability of ECOBESTA-PP under prolonged exposure to hot coolant media. The material maintains a high retention of key mechanical properties over time, highlighting its reliability for coolant line applications and its attractive balance between performance and cost efficiency.
Together, these three solutions cover a broad range of operating conditions and performance requirements, allowing manufacturers to select the most suitable coolant line system according to hydrolysis resistance, heat resistance, mechanical performance and cost targets.
