Long-term exposure to high temperatures can progressively affect the mechanical performance of air brake tubing. Maintaining burst pressure and impact resistance throughout thermal aging is therefore a key requirement for demanding applications.
ECOBESTA®-Lite Therm is designed to provide enhanced long-term heat-aging performance for air brake tubing applications. Building on the ECOBESTA®-Lite concept, this three-layer system combines UBESTA® 3030LI6 in the outer and inner layers with advanced PA6 UBE Nylon 1024JIU in the core, providing increased thermal resistance.
Testing according to SCANIA STD4471 at 125 °C demonstrate the enhanced long-term thermal durability of. ECOBESTA®-Lite Therm.The system retain critical burst pressure and impact performance throughout an extended aging period of up to 4,000 hours, supporting reliable operation under demanding thermal conditions. This long-term stability makes ECOBESTA®-Lite Therm an attractive solution for air brake tubing applications requiring sustained mechanical performance at elevated temperatures.
In addition, ECOBESTA®-Lite Therm delivers superior burst resistance at high temperatures and improved low-temperature impact behaviour. Evaluations according to SCANIA STD4471 confirmed the integrity of the multilayer structure under severe impact conditions, with no evidence of cracking or layer separation, even after accelerated thermal aging.
Its combination of thermal resistance, strong interlayer adhesion and a wide processing window supports demanding air brake tubing applications. ECOBESTA®-Lite Therm has been validated in 12 × 1.5 mm and 8 × 1 mm tubes. The system meets ISO 7628 requirements and has also been evaluated according to SCANIA STD4471 for long-term thermal aging, high-temperature burst resistance and low-temperature impact performance.
