The Feiplar/Feipur event in Brazil, Sao Paulo (November 8th -10th, 2016) counted with important players from the Polyurethane segment, in which the future forecast for 2017 looks positive. The fair was busy with technical presentations happening in the morning and simultaneous technical demonstrations during the trade show hours (12:00 – 21:00).
UBE Latin America delivered technical presentations regarding PCD (polycarbonate diol) and UBE Nylon for composite application.
Our colleague F. Mantovani held the a lecture about the use of polycarbonate diol for the synthesis of polyurethanes, a presentation of a case study based on the reference article “Novel polyurethane coatings obtained with Polycarbonate diol for pipelines with improved mechanical properties and hydrolysis resistance”, published by a team of researchers belonging to UBE Corporation Europe and the University of Alicante (Spain).
In the Nylon lecture, our colleague E. Veloso presented information and results obtained from the use of UBE´s copolymer in the manufacturing process of “vacuum bagging”, as a release agent for wind blades, but also highlighted more information and technical details inherent to the process conditions. In addition, he exposed other suggestions for applying “vacuum bagging” in the aerospace, automotive and construction segments.
The perspectives of the polyurethane market for 2017 are showing positive signals, both technically and through networking, for a promising year.
